Free is a very good price!

I am searching for the birth record for George Small (about 1765-1852). In two Kentucky deeds he gives ‘Berkeley, VA’ as his home. Berkeley Co is now in WV as of 1863. But during George’s est birth, it was part of Fredrick Co, VA.

Perhaps your CD #205 might yeild some information helpful to our search? We do not know George’s parents. George is my 3rd great grandfather.

As for a definite link between Samuel and John, I will look at what I have as time permits and post a proof argument if I have the evidence. This won’t happen any time soon, though. Thank you for all of your hard work. It is a joy to learn such details about the families past.
My line goes Samuel Cantley1760,Alexander Cantley1794,George Cantley1830/Drucilla1831, James Henry Cantley, Ezra Cantley(my grandfather).
I was wondering if a definite link had been found between Samuel Cantley1760 and John Cantley mentioned above. I have not found a document linking the two as father and son.

Hi Sam – I have not yet found a documented link for this Cantley line to Scotland or Ireland or England. The earliest ancestor, John Cantley, is first noted on a 1758 militia list of Augusta County, VA. Researchers are still seeking his whereabouts before then.

From what Cantley line do you descend? We may be cousins.
